Gothenburg Horse Show forced to cancel

Sad news from the organisation behind the Gothenburg Horse Show – the 2022 Gothenburg Horse Show, host of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ qualifier, will be cancelled due to current restrictions. The options of having 500 spectators per section or of postponing the event will not be logistically feasible.

“We have considered every possible alternative, but unfortunately, this is the only decision we can arrive at. We are truly saddened to do so,” says Tomas Torgersen, Show Director.

“We were so looking forward seeing our audience again and to give them the Scandinavium experience of greeting their Olympic team on home turf, but out of respect for our partners, suppliers, riders, officials and audience members, we can delay this decision no longer. Gothenburg Horse Show is close to so many people’s hearts, and we want to thank everyone for their support and understanding.”

Any tickets purchased will be valid for the 2023 event instead and tickets that cannot be used will be refunded. More information will be provided by Ticketmaster within the next few days.

For the Swedish horses and riders that have qualified for Sverigeponnyn, Arena Youth Tour, SWB Trophy, ATG Riders League or Lövsta Future Challenge, we will have more information shortly.

An announcement will also be made today about the cancellation of the EuroHorse Fair. More information is available on their website (www.eurohorse.se).

Hästföretagarforum’s day of seminars, which is jointly organised by Gothenburg Horse Show and EuroHorse, will go ahead as planned on 24 February. Tickets are released this week.

The 2023 Gothenburg Horse Show is set for 22–26 February.

The Gothenburg Horse Show is one of the world’s best indoor equestrian shows, and since its start in 1977, more than 70,000 visitors annually have come to Scandinavium in Gothenburg. The event is organised by Got Event AB on behalf of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), along with the Swedish Equestrian Federation, and in collaboration with the EuroHorse Fair at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.
