Gothenburg Horse Show’s Sustainability Work
As part of the City of Gothenburg and one of the city’s largest and oldest recurring annual events, the Gothenburg Horse Show has a sustainability mission: “To use the event to promote sustainable development both in the city and within equestrian sports.”
ABOUT
Sustainability is something Gothenburg Horse Show and Got Event have actively and systematically worked on for many years. As the City of Gothenburg’s arena and event company, Got Event plays a significant role in making Gothenburg Europe’s leading city for sustainable events.
Since 2016, Gothenburg Horse Show has been certified/diploma-awarded and in recent years has followed SUSA – Sustainable Standards – as a sustainability-adapted event. We conduct climate calculations for the event, providing clear insights into the areas we need to focus on to meet the City of Gothenburg’s goal of a near-zero climate footprint by 2030.
OUR ACTION PLAN FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE EVENT
We have developed an action plan based on three fundamental ambitions: to improve ourselves, to inspire others through our event, and to develop our ability to measure and thereby understand how we can influence and reduce our climate footprint.
We have chosen to focus on several key areas where we believe we have the greatest ability to influence, inspire, and make a big difference: activities with our partners, travel by visitors and volunteers, our own arena restaurants, waste & recycling, as well as accessibility and inclusion.
